Functional Movement Screen

Principle Four Osteopathy is one of the few clinics in the Melbourne city cbd and docklands area offering a Functional Movement Screen.

Currently the word Function and Functional are popular in the health and fitness industry and you will read, see and hear people talking about functional movement and functional training a lot.  At Principle Four Osteopathy we have developed our unique Functional Movement Screen that involves drawing upon a wide range of movements and tests from a variety of different sources.  Some of these sources include the Functional Movement Systems, Gray Institute, Functional Movement Group, DNS, Movement Dynamics and many other well respected health and fitness professionals.  We have taken what we feel are some key movements and tests and put this together to create our own movement assessment template.

What Does The Functional Movement Screen Involve?

Fms

The functional movement screen will incorporate tests from the Functional Movement Systems (FMS/SFMA), Gray Institute and many others.  We will look at how you move and aim to identify any asymmetries in movement, mobility restrictions/limitations, stability limitations and motor control issues.

What Will I Learn And Take Away From Having Undertaken A  Functional Movement Screen?

Our aim is to look at how you move to identify any mobility restrictions, stability deficits or motor control issues.   From this we will work with you to provide you with some strategies to address these findings.  A Functional Movement Screen will help you should your goal be to get out of pain, move more freely, increase your capacity of movement and or improve your performance.
