Foam Roller Prone Scapular W to Y Strength Exercise

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients at the Melbourne Docklands clinic performing a prone scapular retraction W to Y exercise whilst lying on a foam roller and using light dumbbells.  The idea of lying on a foam roller is such that it affords the individual the ability to retract and work the upper limb in a range of motion that is forward of their side, compared to the typical W to Y exercise which requires one to retract the shoulders and work from a relative end range of motion.  Sometimes the W to Y exercise can be challenging for those on the floor and the foam roller may provide the individual with the ability to perform this.
