Disassociating Spine and Hip Movement – Case Study

In the videos below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a number of exercises that focuses on teaching them to hinge through the hips with a neutral spine (that is maintain their neutral spine as they go through hip flexion/extension).  Whilst is very normal for one to be able to flex/extend their spine as their hip flexes or extends, sometimes I see scenarios where individuals are unable to control this and hence develop a pattern where there is a dominance of one type of movement pattern occurring.   In the videos below you will see a couple of examples of how we are working to improve this.
