Deadlift Variations

Most of us associate a deadlift with lifting a barbell of the ground.  These are usually performed with a conventional or sumo stance position and the individual will hold the bar with either a pronated grip or alternating grip.  The deadlift is probably one of the most superior exercises for developing lower body strength.

Many of us who don’t train regularly or have specific sporting goals will often perform deadlifting movement patterns of a day to day basis and dont necessarily have access to a gym.  In the video below we have osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating how one can vary a deadlift movement pattern to improve and train ones ability to adapt and lift weight from the ground.  Rarely will we always have the weight placed in front of us and hands inside our knee position or just on the outside as would occur in a traditional deadlift.  In this video osteopath Heath Williams demonstrates how we can train strength through the body in various positions as we move the weight around the body.
