Crab Walk With Band Around Feet

The crab walk is probably one of the most common go to warm up / movement prep exercises for the hip complex.  There are also numerous ways for one to perform the crab walk and each and every different way in its own right will be effective.  In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating a crab walk with the small powerband from ironedge placed around the feet.  Placing the band around the feet compared to the ankle or knee requires more focus and work through the feet.  This exercise was recently introduced to Heath by Strength and Conditioning Coach Mike of GW Performance.

For those of you who are currently already performing crab walks as part of your movement prep or acccessory work, then give this a go.  For those wanting to work on strengthening lateral hip musculature, give this a go also.
