Bent Over Row Exercise Variation

The bent over row is one of my favourite horizontal pulling movements as it requires one to maintain a stable torso position whilst standing in a hip hinge position.  Therefore it trains not only the muscles of the back, but also that of the core and lower body.  In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy performing a bent over row using the trap bar.  This is different to the traditional barbell bent over row in that each hand is working independently from one another and therefore you must work to stabilise through the body with pulling movements occurring at both hands.  This could also be easily set up in a gym should one have to portable landmine / torsonators.  One may also look to perform a similar exercise by using kettlebells or dumbbells in the bent over row.
