Bent Over Row Exercise Video Progressions

The bent over row is one of my favourite exercises to incorporate into ones training program if an individual is looking to develop back strength and also incorporate trunk stability.

In the short video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating a number of horizontal row variations that sees us starting from a stable and supported trunk position that isolates the horizontal pulling movement and then progressing through to more challenging positions (3 points of contact and then 2 points of contact) that demand trunk stability and stiffness.

You will also see a number of hand pull variations so that one can develop strength across a number of pull patterns (neutral, supinated and pronated grip positions)

If you are looking to build a stronger back, then be sure to incorporate some variation of the single arm or bent arm row.
