Are You Getting The Most Out Of Your Calf Stretching?

Traditionally we will see most people stretch their calf muscles by placing their hands against the wall and keeping their back leg straight and gently leaning into the wall.  Whilst this is certainly going to create a static stretch through the calf muscle, I would argue that there are many other tweaks that we can make to get more out of the traditional calf stretch.

In the videos below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating a number of different tweaks that can be make to create a better calf stretch.

Calf Stretch – Pre Position The Foot In Different Positions

Calf Stretch – Using The Opposite Leg To Drive Tri Plane Motion Through The Planted Leg
