After undertaking a comprehensive assessment of a client, often we will look to prescribe some form of flexibility/mobility homework to address specific tissues and regions of the body. Strategies for this include static stretching or dynamic movement. In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a few dynamic movements that have been prescribed to encourage movement in the body. In particular we have prescribed:

  • Frontal plane step – with a focus on encouraging movement through the lateral trunk and hip.
  • Sagittal plane pelvic rock with overhead arm reach – with a focus on encouraging movement through the anterior chain (hip and trunk)
  • Lower trunk/spine flexion with pelvic movement – to encourage gentle stretching through the lower back
  • Partial hang – to encourage gentle traction through the shoulders and spine

Each of these have been prescribed specifically for the individual. Should you be looking to incorporate more movement strategies into your daily routine or exercise regime, but are not sure where to start. Please touch base with us at Principle Four Osteopathy.
